Returns & Refunds policy

We typically ship out orders within 1-3 business days of purchase. It may take longer to prepare some shipments, particularly ones involving larger or more fragile items.

If you wish to cancel an order you have placed with us before it ships, please contact us at info@prehistoricoddities.com. In the event of an order cancellation we will issue a refund via the payment method used to place the order or provide store credit. As with returns, we unfortunately cannot refund credit card processing fees (currently 3%) unless the refund is taken as store credit.

Conditions for returns:

In order for the goods to be eligible for a return, please make sure that:

  • The goods were purchased in the last 30 days

  • The goods are in the original packaging

We reserve the right to refuse returns of any merchandise that does not meet the above return conditions at our sole discretion.

Shipping Insurance

It is an unfortunate reality of shipping that rarely a package goes missing or is damaged in transit. We take great pride in our ability to package items and get them to their destination intact, but unfortunately there are occasionally circumstances beyond our control (packages run over by a mail truck, etc).

We self insure all packages that go out the door. We self insure because it is extremely difficult and time-consuming to get shipping companies (USPS, UPS, DHL, etc) to pay out on insurance claims even when they are clearly at fault.

For the purposes of considering a package lost in transit and eligible for a refund, a 30 business day timeframe is used for domestic shipments and 60 days for international.
